New here and doing active surveillance

PostAuthor: frankdom » Thu Jul 17, 2008 9:56 am

I was diagnosed last year and I am doing AS. I am 53 and my cancer is early stage GS 6 and one out of 12 cores positive. Biopsy was submitted for second opinion to Boswick Labs and confirmed. Are any of the members here doing AS? I would like to exchange views.

Thanks. Frank

Frank,

I'm not doing AS but I believe that with your numbers (validated in an expert pathology lab) you are doing the right thing. Stay on top of things as recommended by your AS supervisor. Choosing a low-fat, healthy diet and doing plenty of exercise would also assist in keeping you in safe territory.

My best, Bert
